Video project point zero
During the project,I have interviewed the participating artists:I have asked them to talk about their involvement in this project , about their work, their backgrounds, and how they feld in this particular project. The aswers were given in the native languageAlso i adressed the “open approach” as starting point to each other, without knowing eachother. The influence of the other artists with different cultural backgrounds. The importance of meeting other European artists. The existence of one “artistic language”. Partnership in relation with artistic individualism. During the interviews I will only show on film their heads and close-up’s of the face.Hands in prolongation of the spoken word. The face showing the emotions behind the spoken words. The artists speak in their native language during the interviews. Beside these interviews I will select fragments, which took place during “round table-discussions”. English is the then vehicular language.I will show these portraits/reflections on t.v.screens. Each artist on a different screen. The screens are placed in wooden panels of 2x1 meter each. The panels are placed in a circle, diameter 4 meters.Between the panels are small openings, visitors can walk through. In the circle there will be a round wooden bench Sitting in the circle, listening to all the different languages, gives the visitor the sensations of being part of the installation. The attitude of the visitor must be active, interested and curious. The visitor has the opportunity to put on the headphones for translation in French or English. Several visitors can sit on the round bench at the same time, listening to different artists. They will change places.
