Things of fading/gaining value

Hidden and stockpiled for years, these objects represent a portion of the rubbish which is thrown out in Lavalette and its environs. This piece examines our need to conceal our household waste. Rubbish represent useless items, no longer considered of value to the owner. However it all comes from us, a result of daily life which no one knows how to relate to or deal with. It could be sumised that our attitude towards it is evidence of a form of denial, an unwillingness to accept the truth. This is further exacerbated when the « rubbish » is seen against the backdrop of natural beauty . We hate it. This work is not a political statement  but rather an observation on the concept of rubbish. Are we throwing out simply to make way for more? This is reflected in the ambiguous appearence of the rubbish in the piece. Is it being consumed or emerging.
