Heavenly creatures

You experience this work face to face. It reminds you of the philosophy of Emmanuel Levinas. This states that a human being is only able to 'see' himself as he really is by being confronted with someone else, through the contemplation of the other's countenance.

It is only then, that you become conscious of yourself even before one word is said. In that encounter between people the devine can reveal itself. But after that it reveals impotence as well.
