In the fifty’s, the region Auvergne has known a depopulation a rural exodus. A lot of farms were left empty some are in use as hollydayhomesThis exodus resulted in a lost of culture an authenticity by changing the cultivated land meadows in commercial forest. Lavalette place of the exhibition has as many other smalvillages charred this faith. In a general manner people were moving towards the towns and citizens were going back to nature this movement struggle is the idea behind transhumance: seasonal displacement of a herd off animals to the place from were it departed. Also, the disappearing of boarders in the European community. The development of internet are creating a displacement from country to country and are giving this idée of transhumance a global dimension with a lot of social and economic consequences. To make this movement visible, we did approached several artistes who could visualise the theme transhumance in one off the rooms of the farm dependent of there sensibility and there project and proposing there subjected vision using the different approaches by the artists as a starting point for a discussion and exchange of ideas.5 Dutch artists [stroom/hcbk] and 3 France artists [frac Auvergne]The Dutch artists are living in a urban area of The hage, The French artist are all living in the region Auvergne an interesting fact for exchange is that in the auvergne 10people live on a square kilometre in the region of The Hage 600 on a square kilometreThis exhibition will be open from 25-6-2001 till 8-9-2001 every weekend
